how to Volunteer

CAPSEA volunteers are the backbone of everything that we do. Since its inception in 1977, CAPSEA has relied on volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in their community. The training required to provide hotline and counseling services is rigorous, but also life-changing. If you are interested and available, we will work with you to ensure that your time spent with CAPSEA is fulfilling, educational, and worth the work.

Volunteering Requires Time and Education
Volunteering directly with victims and their children requires some special understanding of the dynamics of violence and abuse. Our direct service volunteers are required to complete a training program, which CAPSEA provides. If you would like to discuss volunteering opportunities or schedule a training session, please contact us at contact@capsea.org or 814-772-3838.

Donate Your Skills
There are many ways to volunteer with CAPSEA that do not require participation in our Volunteer Training Program. We are always looking for volunteers with skills or experience that could benefit CAPSEA and our clients. Here are some of the skill areas that we are always looking to showcase:

  • Workshop facilitation in a variety of topics, such as health, economic empowerment, art, the impact of trauma
  • Legal, financial, marketing expertise
  • Professional photography skills

Contact us today at contact@capsea.org or 814-772-3838 to learn more about opportunities to donate your skills.
