about the Episode

On a typical day, domestic violence hotlines nationwide receive over 20,000 calls. Secure communications and virtual connectivity is critical for victims of domestic violence, especially those in rural areas who may not have reliable transportation or may live far away from their nearest agency.

Kara Wasser is the Founder and CEO of OhanaLink Technologies™, a woman-owned technology solutions development company based in Western Pennsylvania. More recently, the company collaborated with a group of domestic violence agencies to develop OhanaLink Purple, mobile technology that transforms the delivery of services between advocates and victims of domestic abuse.

ASK THE ADVOCATE is a podcast series featuring advocates for domestic violence, abuse, and sexual assault survivors discussing critical victim service resources. Sit down with Billie Jo Weyant and her guests each episode to discuss critical victim service resources and to help raise awareness for the most pressing challenges facing survivors and the nonprofit agencies that serve them.
