Billie Jo Weyant is the Executive Director of Citizens Against Physical, Sexual, and Emotional Abuse, Inc., (CAPSEA, Inc.). She has been employed there for over 31 years and has been the Executive Director since 1994.
CAPSEA, Inc. is a private non-profit comprehensive victim service agency that provides 24 hour hotline, free and confidential crisis intervention and counseling/support to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, serious crime victims, and the homeless, plus provides Victim/Witness services, emergency shelter, Incredible Years Parenting workshops and Traumatic Incident Reduction throughout Elk and Cameron counties.
Billie Jo has also spent the last 40 years in broadcasting, starting as an apprentice with senior radio announcers at WTMX-FM and WKBI AM/FM in 1981. She received her certification in Broadcast Communication from the PA Association of Broadcasters in 1982 along with her FCC Commercial Radio Operator’s License and continues today as an, “On Air Personality” at The River 98.9. Billie Jo is the Chair of the Elk County Family Resource Network Collaborative/Prevention Board, Elk and Cameron Criminal Justice Advisory Boards, and various other boards and committees benefiting victims of abuse and crime.
